PNKF Women

2016 Wrap-up

Noelle Grimes · Aug 8, 2016 ·

Once again, thank you to all the competitors, coaches, and volunteers who participated in our event several weeks ago. The planning committee would also like to take a moment to again thank our sponsors again:

All Japan Budogu          Kinsho – Unique Kendo Tsuba

Aoi Budogu                   Kohtoku Enterprise, Inc

e-Bogu.com                  Maruyama Kendo Supply

e-Mudo.com                 Underhill Jewelers

KendoStyle

The tournament showcased some world class kendo and was an overall success! That being said, we know there is always room for improvement and as such, we would appreciate any feedback you may have! Please take a few minutes to fill out our survey and tell us how we can make the 7th North American Women’s Taikai even better!

We hope to see all of those who competed again in 2019 as well as some new faces. Start planning now and as always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, contact us at womenskendotaikai (a) gmail.com.

Women in Kendo at the 5th US Nito Seminar

Womens Kendo · Jul 9, 2012 ·

June 30th-July 1st, McMinnville, Oregon. 3 sensei from Musashi Kai in Japan, including Ako Ishimura sensei, 6dan (pictured below, center) who passed the kodansha exam doing nito! She will be in the women’s All Japan Taikai next month as well. Good luck Ishimura sensei!

We also had the pleasure of instruction from Hirotsugu Sasaki sensei, 7dan kyoshi and Ryoichi Fujii sensei, 7dan kiyoshi. Fantastic seminar-whether you’ve done nito before or not, if you get a chance to go in 2013, go!

Check out this news story on Ishimura sensei and Fujii sensei.

Congrats to the PNKF Women’s Team!
